Manufacturing
Another way the country/city gains wealth is manufacturing. Playing a major role in one the of the wold's most industrialized countries, Shanghai also provides goods. These jobs serve as an area of cheap labor for the country. Some produced goods are forms of metals, appliances like refrigerators, tools, and trading packaging machines.

Tourism
Shanghai is a tourist hot spot in the country of China. In 2010, Shanghai hosted the world exposition. Expo Shanghai brought 73 million people to its site. The theme was stated to be "Better City, Better Life" which was chosen to show the importance of the process of urbanization within the 21 century.
